'Kashmir should be made a role model for SAARC'

Sanjawan (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 20: People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mufti Mohammad Syed on Saturday advocated better trade relations with Pakistan-administered region in Kashmir and urged to make it a model for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). "When the Centre talk about trade relations between Indian and Pakistan Kashmir and people traveling across the border, then I urge to make Kashmir a model for SAARC fraternity," said Mufti.

He was addressing a rally attended by Gujjar-Bakarwals, a nomadic tribe of the State. The collective population of the Gujjar-Bakarwals tribe has gained importance among all the political parties of the State as the State elections are fast approaching.
