J K minister's kin arrested in Jammu

Jammu, Apr 20 (UNI) Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mangat Ram Sharma's grandson was arrested for allegedly pointing a pistol at a person in a restaurant here last night, police said today.

Accused Nitin Sharma, grandson of Mr Sharma-sitting Health and Medical Education Minister, was arrested after he pointed a pistol at Shustant Bakshi last night.

The Minister's kin, who was drunk, had a verbal duel with the complainant at Shakunta bar and restaurant here. ''Nitin snatched a .9mm pistol of his security personnel and aimed at Mr Bakshi.

However, timely intervention of people averted the major tragedy, the police said.

The Minister's grandson was charged under Section 3/25 Arms Act and taken into police custody.
