TDP, CPI, CPI(M) stage dharna against spiralling price rise

Kakinada, Apr 19 (UNI) The TDP, along with the CPI and CPI(M), today staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here, protesting against the spiralling prices of essential commodities and the government's failure to take up market intervention measures.

TDP Polit Bureau Member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, former Rajya Sabha Member Vanga Geeta Viswanath, acting District President and MLC Nimmakayala China Rajappa and former MLA Boddu Bhaskararamarao represented the TDP while CPI (M) District General Secretary Dadala Subbarao and Secretaries D Seshu Babji and Vasamsetti Suryarao led the CPI(M) team.

On behalf of CPI, District Secretary Misala Satyanarayana, Town Unit Secretary T Madhu and AITUC General Secretary Kirla Krishnarao took part in the demonstration.

All the party leaders criticised both the state and Centre for the price rise.

Later, a delegation called on the District Collector and presented a memorandum, demanding the government to take effective steps to control the spiralling prices.
