One dead, nine injured as jeep falls into gorge

Mandi, Apr 19 (UNI) One person was killed and nine injured, three of them seriously, when the jeep they were travelling in fell into a gorge at Jhungi, about 75 km from here, this morning.

According to District SP M Chander Shekhar, the vehicle was on its way to Pagna Valley from Komad in the district when the accident occurred at about 1130 hrs, killing one person on the spot and injuring nine others.

All the injured have been admitted to a government hospital at Gohar where the doctors described the condition of the three injured serious, Mr Chander Shekhar added.

He said the cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, adding that a case had been registered and investigations were on.
