Birla Centre to celebrate DNA Day on April 25

Hyderabad, Apr 19: The B M Birla Science Centre will celebrate the DNA day on April 25, to mark the publishing of the description of the DNA structure by James Watson and Francis Crick on that day in 1953.

According to a release here, the objective behind celebrating the DNA Day in the city was to create a platform for sharing knowledge and facilitate discussions on the advances in DNA science and its impact on the society.

The event, funded by the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences, would have a walking exhibit on the history of DNA and many applications of the science. There would also be multi-media presentations and demonstrations of experimental methods in DNA science, it added.
