Shatner was clueless about 'Star Trek' co-stars' dislike

New York, April 18 : Hollywood star William Shatner has revealed that he did not have any idea that his co-stars in 'Star Trek' disliked him until the show ended.

He writes in his autobiography 'Up Till Now' that he had to put in years of hard work to improve his relationship with the other actors.

Shatner also reveals in the book that Leonard Nimoy, who portrays Mr. Spock in the series, was one of his closest friends.

The book even discusses at length Nimoy's alcoholism during the series.

"I loved going to the theatre in London because they allowed you to drink before the show and during intermission," the New York Daily News quoted Nimoy as himself writing in the book.

Shatner writes that it was Nimoy who helped him overcome the alcoholism of his third wife Nerine Kidd, who tragically drowned in their pool with booze and Valium in her system.
