Rs 1956 crore sanctioned for West Bengal under RGGVY
Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned Rs 1956 crore to West Bengal under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) for the next five years.
Talking to newsmen here today, Union Minister of Power Jairam Ramesh said Rs 400 crore had already been released for the state till March 31 under the RGGVY.
He said DVC would execute the Yojana for East Midnapur district in the Phase II.
Mr Ramesh also said 45,000 villages in the country had already been covered under the scheme, while 70,000 villages remained to be covered.
