Columbia Pictures snaps up 'Iron Jack'

Washington, April 18 : Columbia Pictures has snapped up Johnny Rosenthal's action-adventure spec 'Iron Jack' for 1.25 million dollars against 2 million dollars.

The film, described as comedic action adventure, sparked a heated bidding war that involved many studios.

Set in the 1930s, the story of the film centres on a renowned novelist and his quest for a legendary treasure.

"This is one of the funniest and most original scripts we have read in a long, long time," The Hollywood Reporter quoted the Columbia co-president of production Doug Belgrad, as saying.

Todd Garner is producing alongside Sean Robins while Rosenthal's manager, George Heller, and Jeremy Bell are executive producers.

Sam Dickerman and Adam Milano are overseeing the project.
