TN: Toddy tappers to observe fast on Sept 16

Tiruchirapalli, Apr 16: Members of the Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement will observe a token fast in Chennai on September 16, urging the state government to permit toddy tapping in the state, according to Movement's coordinator Nallusamy.

He said that except the leaders of the AIADMK and the ruling DMK, others like PMK founder-leader S Ramadoss, DMDK president Vijaykanth, All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi president Sarathkumar, MDMK Treasurer M Kannappan, Janata Party president Subramaniyam Swamy and Left leaders had extended their support to the proposed fast.

They would launch a post card campaign, in which more than one lakh post cards would be posted to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and hold seminars in all the districts in the state to mobilise people's support.
