Jessica Chastain to star opposite Brad Pitt in 'Tree of Life'

London, April 16 : Jessica Chastain has signed on to star opposite Brad Pitt in Terrence Malick's drama 'Tree of Life.'

The story, written by Terrence Malick, concerns the loss of innocence as seen through the eyes of the son of the characters portrayed by Pitt and Chastain, reports Variety.

Sean Penn will be seen in a supporting role in the film, which began shooting recently in Texas.

River Road is financing the film, which includes Bill Pohlad, Sarah Green and Grant Hill as producers.

Pitt replaced the late Heath Ledger in the starring role.
