Three to be awarded inaugural Prena Strot Puruskar
Shimla, Apr 14 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to confer the inaugural ''Prerna Strot Puruskar'' on Ambuja Foundation Chairman Suresh Neotia, Wardhman Group of Companies Executive Director Sachit Jain and world renowned nephrologist Devender Rana, an official spokesman said today.
The three would be honoured by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on the 61st state-level Himachal Day function to be held at Bhoranj in Hamirpur district tomorrow, he said in a release here.
The spokesman said, ''Chairman of the Ambuja Foundation Suresh Neotia has adopted several villages for infrastructure development in the Arki sub division of Solan district, besides educational and health institutions. He has also provided employment to large number of youth of the state in Ambuja Cement plants.'' ''Executive Director of the Wardhman Group of Companies Sachit Jain is credited with setting up nine spinning mills at the industrial area of Baddi in the district with an investment of Rs 3,200 crore and providing employment to 7,000 youth of the state,'' he said.
''While Dr Devender Rana, one of the country's leading nephrologist, a product of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla has published 80 research papers in his subject and has been honoured with a number of national and international awards,'' he added.
