Ahmedabad, Apr 14 (UNI) Police fired at least 10 rounds in the air to disperse two clashing groups in Mandi Bazar area of the communally sensitive Vishnagar town in Mehsana district of Gujarat today.

According to police sources, trouble broke out between two groups over parking of an auto-richsaw in Mandi Bazar area, which led to clashes this afternoon.

Initially, police resorted to lathi-charge and lobbed tear-gas shells to control the situation. But as this proved ineffective, police subsequently fired 10 rounds in the air to disperse the clashing groups.

The situation was tense but under control in the town this evening, police sources said.
