Patent granted for Casuarina

Puducherry, Apr 14 (UNI) The National Bureaue of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi has granted patent for the Casuarina and Crossandra developed by a local agriculturists T Venkatapathy Reddiyar using tissue culture.

In a letter to Mr Reddiyar, Dr Anurudh K Singh, head Germplasm Conservation Division and Member Secretary Germplasam Committee informed him that the 17th meeting of the committee has approved registration of casuarina and crossandra develpoped by him, Mr Reddiyar said in a press release here today.
