Maoists kill one in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Apr 14 (UNI) Maoists today gunned down the brother of a contractor, reportedly a close associate of Jharkhand Cooperative Minister and local MLA Dulal Bhuiyan.

Police said four motorbike-borne Maoists arrived at the house of one Golu Mahanty, the conrtactor, who lived at Srirampur village under Patamda police station in East Singhbhum district.

They enquired of his whereabouts from his brother Satinath and when he refused to divulge, the ultras shot at him, killing him on the spot and fled to the nearby hills.

Reportedly, Golu was a close associate of Mr Bhuiyan.

Superintendent of Police Naveen Kumar Singh had rushed to the spot and combing operation had been launched in the area.

None had yet been arrested in this connection, police added.
