Lotus lure proves costly for brothers

Madurai, Apr 14 (UNI) Two brothers met their watery grave when they attempted to pick lotus flowers from a pond at Thidiyan village, under Sindhuppatti police limits, about 40 km from here.

Police sources here today said M Duraipandi (8) and his younger brother M Palpandi (5) were reported missing since last evening, when they went to pick lotus from the village pond.

The bodies were found floating in the pond this morning. On information, police rushed to the village and fished out the bodies.

The bodies were sent to the Government Rajaji Hospital here for post-mortem.
