Kolkata, Apr 14: Criticising the Nitish Kumar Government for Maoist depredation in Bihar, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said the administration had failed to tackle the extremist activities in] the state.
''The death of the jawan is very sad. The Naxalites are increasing their activities in North Bihar, especially along the Nepal border. The state government has failed to check their activities, '' he told reporters in reply to a question on the death of a Special Armed Force Jawan at Jhajha yesterday.
Mr Prasad, who was speaking to the media after flagging of the Kolkata-Dhaka Moitree Express here, said the Bihar government should immediately begin combing operation and arrest those responsible for the attack.
''It must seize illegal arms to prevent them from being used for anti-people activities,'' he said.
