Karunanidhi says happy if Rahul is PM
Chennai, Apr 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said he would be happy if Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi became the Prime Minister.
On Union Ministers Arjun Singh and Praful Patel suggesting that Mr Rahul Gandhi was the ideal candidate for the Prime Ministership, he said ''I am happy if he is elected.'' To a question on the issue of creamy layer in the 27 per cent quota for the OBCS in Centrally-run institutions, Mr Karunanidhi said he had already written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.
Mr Karunanidhi said the DMK would discuss in detail the reservation issue at the high-level meeting scheduled to be held on April 18.
