Dassault Systemes inks agreement with Argentum Engineering Design

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) With an aim to deliver innovative Powertrain solutions for the growing automotive industry, Dassault Systemes (DS) and Argentum Engineering Design (AED) signed an MoU here today.

Dassault Systemes, a leading 3D and Product Lifecycle Management Provider (PLM), will contribute to AED's Centre of Excellence (CoE) set up at their facility in Surajpur, near Greater Noida.

Besides, it will provide basic and advanced training, and support to enable AED deploy and support powertrain solutions with end-user customers.

''The capabilities will be created with AED providing the infrastructure and Dassault the software,'' AED founder BVR Subbu said, adding that they have already started working with three global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

With the country poised to be a global engineering hub in the future, Mr Subbu said, ''India is fast becoming a hub for automotive manufacturing and design. This agreement will drive innovation and enhance efficiency in the Indian automotive industry.'' Reiterating it, Argentum Motors Chairman Ajay Singh said, ''In the next few years, India will become a major player in global automotive design. With this CoE, AED eexpects to play an important role in this evolution.'' The CoE will start functioning by August this year, while the training will be started by May.

Italian automotive design and styling house Pininfarina, known for its designs of Ferrari, Maserati, has already announced it would set up a global hub in India in two to five years, as it firms up plans to work with Indian auto majors.

Fiat Powertain Technologies already has a Joint Venture with Tatas and has its centre located at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra to manufacture passenger cars, engines and transmissions for the domestic and overseas markets.
