12-year-old mentally challenged girl raped in East Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) A mentally challenged minor girl was allegedly raped by an acquaintance in East Delhi's Kondli area, police said today.

Sandeep Rawat, a 27-year-old mini-bus driver, allegedly raped the 12-year-old girl in New Kondli area last night.

Rawat, who used to live in the same building, has been absconding since the incident.

''The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape,'' a police official said, adding that a manhunt is on to arrest him.

The victim was sleeping in a room with her grandmother when Rawat tied up the old lady and raped her in the bathroom.
