VC appeals to NUTA to stop agitation
Kohima, Apr 12 (UNI) Nagaland University Vice-Chancellor K Kannan today appealed to the Nagaland University Teachers' Association (NUTA) to resume their duties in the interest of students and general welfare at large.
Prof Kannan, in a release here, stated that any allegation against the Vice-Chancellor or other officials of the University can be redressed in the appropriate forum adding that resorting to strikes might attract both civil and criminal consequences.
Maintaining that he was ready to reply to the allegations levelled against him, Prof Kanan said the University should not be made subservient to anybody.
He also cautioned that the University would have no option but to invoke the appropriate provisions of law if the impasse continued, the release added.
