Manipur: Tanker services stopped due to stir
Imphal, April 12: The All Manipur Water Tankers' Welfare Association has ceased its service of supplying drinking water for the third day today following extortion demands by suspected militants. The people have been facing severe hardships due to non-supply of water. The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal has also been facing massive problems due to paucity of water.
RIMS Medical Superintendent Prof Y Mohen appealed to all sections of the society not to prevent the water tankers from supplying water to the RIMS. ''Thousands of patients cannot be treated and emergency operations and child births cannot be done without water,'' the medical superintendent said.
