Colonisers asked to provide plots to HUDA
Chandigarh, Apr 12 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda directed the Town and Country Planning Department that colonizers should provide 50 per cent plots to the Housing Board for construction of houses out of 20 per cent plots earmarked to them for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the society.
The Chief Minister was reviewing in a meeting held here the scheme of Housing Board under which 50,000 dwelling units would be constructed by the Housing Board for the people belonging to economically weaker sections of the State.
Mr.Hooda also directed Housing Board authorities that a standard pattern could be devised for the construction of houses on the 100 sq.yard plots which would be given by the government to the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and the people living below the poverty line.
The Chief Minister revealed that about 5000 village Panchayats had passed resolutions for providing land under the 100 sq.yard plot giving scheme.
Mr.Hooda stressed the need that low cost houses be constructed for the EWS and their instalment should be about Rs.1500 per month so that they could afford it easily and the main aim of the Government was to provide them affordable houses as a scheme for the rural people had already been announced.
He said that efforts to be made to make atleast 5000 houses near the towns by the Housing Board in a cluster so that the housing needs of the poor people living in the urban areas could be met out.
The Minister of State for Revenue and Housing, Ms Savitri Jindal apprised the Chief Minister that Housing Board had entrusted the responsibility of constructing 50,000 houses in the State and under this scheme 10 Deputy Commissioners had assured to make available about 250 acre of land to the Housing Board and the Board would construct houses soon on this land.
Mrs.Jindal said that Housing Board had constructed houses of 200-200 sq.yard at Matlauda in district Panipat where all basic facilities had been provided besides 33 per cent houses had been reserved for the women.
The Chairperson of Housing Board, Ms Parsani Devi said that 11 panchayats of the Neoltha constituency had unanimously passed a resolution to give sufficient land to the Housing Board for construction of houses for the people belonging to EWS.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Housing, Mr.R.K.Ranga apprised that the cost of a Housing Board house having 375 sq.ft. area would be Rs.5.40 lakh and its installment would be Rs.2583 per month.
The Chief Administrator, HUDA, Mr.T.C.Gupta said that HUDA had provided 65 acres of land to the Housing Board for the construction of houses besides HUDA was also constructing 8000 flats in Panchkula.
