Pappu Yadav challenges life term in Patna High Court

Patna, Apr 11 (UNI) RJD MP from Purnea Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav today filed a petition in Patna High Court challenging the life imprisonment awarded to him by the special CBI court in connection with the murder of former CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar.

Former MLA from Govindganj, Rajan Tiwari and Anil Yadav, who were awarded life imprisonment in the same case by the CBI special court, also filed the petition in the High Court challenging the sentence awarded to them.

The CBI special court had awarded life imprisonement to the three convicts in February this year for killing Ajit Sarkar in 1998.
