Judge returns petition in CM's case
Puducherry, Apr 11 (UNI) Puducherry Principal District and Sessions Judge D Krishna Raj today returned the petition seeking to file criminal cases against Chief Minister N Rangasamy and two others.
The judge cited certain lapses after perusing the petition and suggested that petitioner Janakiraman Reddiyar could approach the competent authority and returned the petition.
Mr Reddiyar of Koodapakkam had filed the petition before the court seeking to register criminal cases against Mr Rangasamy and two others on charges that they had regularised the services of 96 temporory employees of the office of the council of ministers despite a stay by the Madras High Court.
Even though the Lt Governor had returned the file, Mr Rangasamy along with the then Chief Secretary C S Khairwal and Under-Secretary Kannabiran regularised the service of the temporory staff in spite of the court stay and thereby committed a criminal offence, Mr Reddiyar in his petition charged.
