Cabinet approves India-Madagascar MOU in agriculture

New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between India and Madagascar for cooperation in Agriculture.

The MOU which will be valid for five years, will cover areas including research, machinery and technology, soil and watershed development, agricultural trade and marketing, plant protection, horticulture, animal husbandry, livestock, fertiliser production.

''The MOU will promote further bilateral cooperation through joint activities and exchanges in areas of agriculture through exchange of scientific delegations and experts between the two countries,'' Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal told reporters after the Cabinet Meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
