Badal gives nod to renovate Muslim Shrines

Chandigarh, Apr 11 (UNI) Lahore High Court Senior Judge Syed Sabbar Raza Rizvi today met Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and sought his intervention for renovation of Muslim shrines at Samana in Patiala district.

He said that 'Dargah' of Imam Ali (Panj Peer), the memorial of the descendants of Hazrat Mohammad, had immense religious and historic importance.

Justice Rizvi said the 'Dargah' of Meer Amman Ula, one of the founders of the Samana town, also needed renovation.

Evincing keen interest in the historical perspective of Samana, Mr Badal directed his special principal secretary KJS Cheema to chalk out a time-bound action plan for the renovation of these shrines.

Mr Badal said a committee to guide the district administration for the renovation work would be constituted. He also stressed that the archaeological designs of these places must be preserved in their original shapes.
