Revenue official in vigilance net, arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 9 (UNI) A senior revenue official was today arrested after he was caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 by Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation(VO)today.
A spokesman of the VO said a complaint was received from one Zulfikar Ali alleging that the revenue official was demanding a bribe of Rs 4000 for making extracts of land records belonging to him.
He said a case was registered and a team of VO officials was entrusted to conduct further investigation.
The VO official laid a successful trap and the accused official was caught red handed at his office at Khanyar in the down town city demanding and accepting the bribe.
The money was recovered from his possession and his hand wash tested positive.
