Chandigarh, Apr 8 (UNI) The general elections to all municial bodies in Punjab will be held on June 23, 26 and 28, state Advocate General H S Mattewal informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court today.
He gave this information during the resumed hearing on a petition which had sought directions to the state government to hold elections to Municipal Corporation of Bathinda at the earliest.
Mr Mattewal said Bathinda would go to polls on June 23 as he prayed for extension of time from April to June.
Earlier, the Punjab Govertnmet had assured to hold elections to MC Bathinda by April 30, but it was not finding it feasible due to the annual college examinations and the wheat harvesting season, Mr Mattewal told the court.
