Patna High Court imposes interim stay on court fee hike
Patna, Apr 9 (UNI) Patna High Court today imposed interim stay on the court fee enhanced by the Bihar government.
Hearing a PIL, a special bench comprising acting Chief Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad, Justices Barin Ghosh and Jaynandan Singh, passed the order staying the hike in the court fee. The matter would be heard again on May 16.
With todays interim order, the old court fee would be admissible in all courts across the state.
During the hearing, Advocate General P K Sahi informed the court that a ministerial committee was reviewing the matter and would submit its report within 30 days.
Meanwhile, different associations of the striking lawyers have decided to resume their work from tomorrow following the court's order.
80,000 lawyers across the state were on an indefinite strike in protest against the hike in the court fee.
