Madras HC disposes of petitions against GO
Chennai, Apr 9 (UNI) Madras High Court today disposed of a batch of writ petitions, challenging the Government Order (GO) on transferring powers of the Labour and Employment Department to Revenue officials.
When the petitions came up for hearing before Mr Justice A Kulasekaran, Additional Advocate General (AAG) P S Raman submitted that the impugned GO would not be implemented till the schemes already in existance were amended in accordance with law.
He further submitted that the existing schemes would continue to be implemented till then.
The Judge recorded the State Government's submission and disposed of the petitions.
On March 26, while admitting the petitions by various organisations, the High Court had ordered status quo on the GO.
