Kerala HC tells govt to pay for works ahead of Sonia's visit

Kochi, Apr 9 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the state government to pay the contractors for the works executed by them in connection with the recent visit of AICC President Sonia Gandhi here.

Justice Antony Dominic dismissed the contention of the government that the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) should pay the contract amount.

The court also directed the executive engineer to pay the contract amount to the petitioners within six weeks.

The petition was filed by contractors Radhakrishnan Nair and Cristalraj, complaining about the non-payment of the contract amount for the works undertaken by them.
