Inquiry ordered into swindling in East Godavari Collectorate

Kakinada, Apr 9 (UNI) An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged misappropriation of Rs 12 lakh in the East Godavari Collectorate and the inquiry report is expected within three days, District Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said action would be initiated against the erring employees based on the report, including recovering the entire money and launching criminal action against them.

The Collector, who assumed charge last week, was unhappy over the functioning of the staff, especially the housing corporation personnel.

''The district is very much lagging behind and occupies 21st place in the State in the implementation of Indiramma housing scheme. The performance of staff at all levels has been reviewed and they have been given a month's time to improve. Those who fail to improve will be taken to task and those performing well will be duly rewarded,'' he said.
