Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) A copy of the City Civil and Sessions Court order that stayed summons issued against Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and his wife Manyata challenging their marriage, was served to the latter's former husband Mairaj Shaikh in Arthur Road jail here today.

Dutt's lawyer Rizwan Merchent told UNI that a copy of the court order addmitting the actor's plea was served to Shaikh. Initially, he refused to accept but after Jail official explained it to him, he accepted the same.

Advocate Rizwan said ''We have served the copy to him as per the court's directions.'' Yesterday, City civil and sessions court judge S N Sardesai stayed the operation of the summons till April 23 on a plea by Dutt, who challenged the order requiring him and Manyata to appear before the court on April 14.

Miraj Shaikh had lodged a complaint, claiming that Manyata was his legal wife and so cannot marry another person unless she obtains a divorce from him.

Shaikh is behind bars in connection with an extortion case and had filed the complaint from the jail.

Dutt, on the other hand, prayed that the complaint made by Shaikh was false and baseless and the court should not entertain such pleas.
