Prof's murder: hearing in Nagpur court on Apr 17

Ujjain, MP, Apr 8 (UNI) The first hearing in the Professor H S Sabharwal murder case in the Nagpur court -- where it was transferred by the Supreme Court recently -- would take place on April 17.

''All the documents pertaining to the case are being sent to Nagpur by the sessions court here. The first hearing would take place on April 17,'' said Mr Kailash Nagar, counsel of Prof Sabharwal's son Himanshu Sabharwal.

He said the court would be requested to again hear witnesses, who had been declared hostile. Six accused lodged in central jail here would be presented before the court, which would decide whether they should be lodged in a jail in Maharashtra or not.

Prof Sabharwal died on August 26, 2006 after being allegedly beaten up by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists irked over postponement of student unions elections.
