Hooda to chair meeting of DCs, SPs on Apr 17

Chandigarh, Apr 8: A conference of Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police will be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on April 17.

The agenda of the conference included issues of law and order, announcements of Chief Minister, allotment of plots to families of Scheduled Castes and those living below the poverty line, distribution of old age allowance, implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and other schemes like model villages, sports stadia, loan waiver, Rajiv Gandhi Swasthya Bima Yojana and important schemes and programmes of Education Department.

The other issues which would be taken up for review and discussion included arrangement for drinking water supply, Indira Gandhi Water Supply Scheme, supply of electricity, repair of roads, buildings, canals and drains, flood preparations, brief review of procurement of wheat and preparation of Kharif 2008 and computerization of land records.
