HC asks police to submit PC's press conference's video footage

Kolkata, Apr 08 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today directed the police to submit the video footage of the Police Commissioner's press conference on Rizwannur's death within April 15.

The police was also asked to file before the court the complaint of Ashok Todi which prompted the law enforcing authority to call computer graphic analyst Rizwannur and his wife Priyanka to city Police Headquarters Lal Bazar.

Justice Dipankar Datta issued the ruling during hearing of the case, filed by the family of Rizwannur Rehaman seeking a CBI inquiry and unravelling the mystery of the computer graphic analyst.

Riz was found dead on September 21 last near the railway tracks of Bidhanagar railway station.

Justice Dutta had directed the police to submit details of the death of Rizwannur, including the manner in which he was found dead beside the railway track and who informed the police of his death.

Justice Datta is hearing the case for a fortnight. The hearing of the case began with submission of Advoacate General Balai Roy pleading that CBI acted 'excess' and the court should take exception to the manner in which it investigated into the death of Riz.

Earlier the court had also directed the CBI to file an affidavit explaining why it had filed an FIR in New Delhi insted of Kolkata where Rizwanur's body was found.
