Haryana govt to give interest free loan for wheat purchase
Chandigarh, Apr 8 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to grant an interest free advance of Rs 7000 to its those employees who wish to purchase wheat for their own consumption or by their families during the year 2008-09.
While stating this today, Finance Minister Birender Singh said that this loan would be admissible to only those group 'D' and 'C' employees who were getting basic pay plus dearness pay upto Rs 7,000 per month. The loan would be recoverable in not more than 10 installments. The recovery of the first installment of the advance would preferably be made from the pay for the month of May 2008, he added.
He said that the advance would be admissible to permanent and temporary regular employees. It would be sanctioned by the concerned drawing and disbursing officers, who would, in case of temporary employees, allow advance on the basis of a surety to their satisfaction so that it is fully secured and its recovery is ensured from the loanee before the close of the financial year 2008-09.
Mr Birender Singh said that the advance would not be admissible to those employees who were on deputation to other Government Departments, Corporations and local bodies. It would also not be admissible to work charged, contractual and daily wage employees.
In case both husband and wife were employed, the wheat advance would be allowed to only one of them, he added.
