Girl commits suicide unable to bear death of lover

Puducherry, Apr 8 (UNI) Unable to bear the agony of the death of her lover, a girl committed suicide by setting herself on fire at Villianur near here today.

According to police, Rajalingam (23) of Kanwaipet, Villianur was in love with Rajeswari (18) of the same area for some time. When the family of Rajalingam came to know about his affair, his parents opposed it as Rajeswari belonged to another caste.

Following this, Rajalingam committed suicide by hanging himself at his house two days back. His funeral was held last evening.

She was admitted to the Government General Hospital, where she succumbed to burns this morning.
