President calls for more cooperation between developing countries
New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) The Ambassadors of Nepal, Brazil, Gabon and Benin presented their credentials to President Pratibha Patil here today.
Addressing the envoys--Durgesh Man Singh (Nepal), Marco Antonio Dinz Brandao (Brazil), Dosire Koumba (Gabon) and Sedozan Jean Claude (Benin)--after the brief ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said India was committed to South-South Cooperation.
Observing that all the Ambassadors who had presented their credentials were from developing contries, she stressed on more cooperation between such countries.
She said developing countries should work collectively fpr a greater role in international organisations including at the UN and international financial institutions.
