Kerala HC tells Govt to remove encroachers from poromboke land

Kochi, Apr 4 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the State Government to identify Government 'poromboke' land and remove encroachers from there.

A Division Bench, comprising Mr Justices C N Ramachandran Nair and T P Ramachandran Nair, directed the Government to ensure that only eligible persons were given Government land.

The Court also directed that all these steps should be taken within six months.

The Bench issued these directions while disposing of a petition, alleging that SC/ST persons were not receiving land which they were eligible for under Government rules.
