Veteran journalist passes away

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 3 (UNI) Veteran journalist and writer Brijbhushan Singh passed away here today following prolonged illness.

Mr Singh, 78, breathed his last at 1100 hours at his son's house in Sindhi colony area here. He had been ailing since a long time and was admitted to Apollo hospital. He had been brought home two days back.

Born in 1930 at Mauli village in Uttar Pradesh's Unnav district, Mr Singh worked in Hindi daily Navbharat times besides being associated with the Public Relations department of Madhya Pradesh for a long time.

He had written several books on journalism and Hindi literature including research on several novels.

His son Shashank is an eminent scriptwriter and Doordarshan's Patna centre director.

His last rites were performed at 1600 hours today.
