Rupee inches up at 39.9550/9650 against USD

Mumbai, Apr 3: The Rupee today inched up slightly higher at 39.9550/9650 against the US Dollar from its previous close of 39.97/98 per dollar on positive global cues. The Indian unit made a firm start against the greenback in the early trade but was range-bounded in a narrow gap as the local equity market seemed to be caught in volatility bouts, dealers said.

Traders were also hesitant to take large positions as they waited to see if the central bank would intervene to check the positive move of the currency, dealers opined.
