MLA Kadu's supporters take out morcha in Amravati

Nagpur, Apr 3 (UNI) Supporters of Omprakash alias Bachchu Kadu, an independent MLA, today took out a silent 'morcha' (march) in Amravati city to protest against his suspension from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

According to the police, Mr Kadu's supporters took out the silent morcha in Amravati city to demand the revocation of his suspension.

Those participating in the morcha resorted to mild stone-pelting near the district collector's office.

Later, they broke through a security cordon into the district collector's office and damaged some fixtures in the premises. The police then resorted to a mild cane-charge to disperse the mob, they said.

Two policemen were hurt in the stone-pelting incident, while four supporters sustained minor injuries in the cane-charge. The situation is now normal, police added.

Mr Kadu is among the six members of the state Legislative Assembly, who have been suspended for a year after acrimonious scenes in the House on Tuesday.
