Kumaraswamy calls people to elect regional party

Chamarajanagara, Apr 3 (UNI) Janata Dal(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today urged the voters to elect a regional party like JD(S) as national parties had failed to safeguard the interests of people of Karnataka.

Addressing rallies at various places in this district he said such parties had deprived backward regions in the state of projects including irrigation projects.

Criticising the BJP for taking credit for the schemes launched by the previous coalition government, he alleged that Mr Yeddyurappa had actually tried to scuttle schemes such as loan waiver, ban on arrack and lottery.

He sought the centre's immediate intervention in Hogenakkal issue to stop bad blood between the people of the two states.
