Glamour quotient rules the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week

Mumbai, Apr 3 : Designer Sanjay Malhotra's collection 'A night at the Moulin Rouge' enthralled the audience on the final day of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW).

Malhotra's collection showcased the societal changes when the social barriers collapse, giving rise to hope for better life for all, in rich cultural profusion.

The magnificent show enchanted the audience with rare joy and vitality as the collection was flavoured with artistic creativity inspired by outrageous and fancy atmosphere that departed from the rigid classicism of that period.

"It is the celebrity fabulous nightclub in the city of romance -- Paris. The entire collection is inspired from there, their culture, the costumes, the drama, a little bit of glamour, all the sensibilities of that club entirely goes into the collection," said Malhotra.

The fabrics used were the finest rich silks and chiffons. The colour palette included bold colours like wine, orange and emerald green.

The designer experimented with vintage costumes and colours of the most acclaimed musical Moulin Rouge.

Designer for the first time showcased men's wear collection that comprised of classic silhouettes with twists, modern, chic and glamorous for the stylish successful men.

LFW appeared to be a good business destination with the participation of 57 well-established Indian designers of the fashion fraternity along with international buyers and fashion experts.
