Congress' comment on price rise is 'laughable': BJP

New Delhi, Apr 3: The BJP today termed as 'laughable' the Congress' comment that the states were equally responsible for the price rise, saying it shows the 'height of political bankruptsy' on the part of the ruling party. Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said the price rise was the result of the ill-conceived indifference of the Central government and complete lack of systematic response.

''I will like to ask the Congress if there is no prise rise in Congress ruled states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Goa and New Delhi. Blame game is going on in the Cabinet on price rise, Commerce Minister is blaming the Food Minister and Railway Minister is blaming the Steel and Fertilizer Minister,'' Mr Prasad regretted.

This showed complete lack of cohesion in the governments and its Cabinet and the Prime Minister ''is unable to control his colleagues at this critical hour,'' the BJP leader added.
