Clooney laughs off Brangelina 'godfather' reports

Washington, April 3 : George Clooney has dismissed rumours that he has been named godfather to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's unborn offspring.

Rumours that the Hollywood hottie will be godfather to Brangelina's reported unborn twins started circulating after Clooney joked to paparazzi outside a Los Angeles restaurant that he had been asked by the Hollywood couple to take on the role. ut Clooney's long-time representative Stan Rosenfield has been forced to publicly deny the reports, after some gossip websites reported the actor's passing comments as fact.

"He was just having a joke," Contactmusic quoted Rosenfield, as saying.

This is not the first time Clooney has invalidated speculation that he has been signed up to be an A-List star's godparent.

The actor denied being godfather to Nicole Kidman's unborn child just last month (Mar08).
