New Delhi, Apr 3: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has assured his Chinese counterpart that it would not tolerate any political anti-China activities by Tibetans on Indian Territory.

According to the official Xinhua news agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi spoke to Mukherjee over phone and briefed him on the Tibet issue. They also exchanged views on bilateral relations. According to Xinhua, Mukherjee said the Tibet Autonomous Region is part of China's territory and India will never tolerate any political anti-China activities by Tibetans on the Indian Territory.

Mukherjee also said that India fully supported Beijing's bid to host an "excellent" Olympic Games.

"Olympic Games belong to the people of the whole world and India is proud of the fact that this year's Games is going to be held in Asia," he said.

Yang also told Mukherjee that it had been proved and would continue to be proven that any plan by the supporters of the Tibetan spiritual leader, to split and break China was "doomed to failure."

On Tuesday, Mukherjee had urged the Dalai Lama not to do any political activity that could adversely affect relations between India and China.

"He is a respected guest in India. India will continue to offer him all hospitality, but during his stay in India, they should not do any political activity, any action that can adversely affect relations between India and China," Mukherjee had said.
