Two militants shot, one arrested in Tripura

Agartala, Apr 2 (UNI) Two BNCT militants were killed ingroup clashes, while paramilitary forces arrested one cadre of the outfit and recovered arms during the last 48 hours in different parts of Tripura.

According to police, one Ala Kumar Tripura (40) of remote Mohini Para of Gandacherra sub-division and another unidentified youth aged about 22 years died on the spot with bullet injuries following clash on money matter on March 31.

On the other, TSR personnel have arrested Khiroha Reang (31), BNCT collaborator, from his house at Banka Rai Guchha colony in South Tripura yesterday.

TSR had also recovered one chinese pistol with five live Rds, one magazine, one chinese grenade and a subscription pad with a bag from Darikamura in West Tripura following a brief encounter.

Police said a group of ATTF extremists opened fire to the operation party and TSR personnel were retaliated with counter fire but no causality was reported. In another raid at North Tripura police recovered one factory made gun on March 31 night, police added.
