Tata to make environment-friendly car
Bangkok, Apr 2: Thailand's Board of Investment (BoI) today approved a proposal by Tata Motors to manufacture fuel-efficient cars in the country. Tata Motors will invest 7.3 billion Baht in setting up a manufacturing facility on an industrial estate in eastern Thailand to produce 100,000 'eco- cars' annually.
More
than
half
the
number
of
Tata
eco-cars
made
in
Thailand
will
be
exported
to
other
countries
in
the
Asia-Pacific
region
as
well
as
to
South
Africa.
The
BoI
also
today
approved
similar
proposals
by
leading
Japanese
automakers
Mitubishi
and
Toyota
who
will
together
produce
about
200,000
eco-cars
annually
in
Thailand.
